36 Sri Lankan Students Selected To Study Hindi In India Availing Scholarship From Govt Of India

As many as 36 Sri Lankan students have been selected to study Hindi in India availing scholarship from the Government of India. The scholarship provided by India includes academic fees and local hospitality for the nine month course starting from August at the Kendriya Hindi Sansthan in Agra. High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha, interacted with the students before their departure to India. He highlighted the role of Hindi language and literature in strengthening the millennia-old cultural, linguistic, literary, and religious ties between the two countries. The High Commissioner conveyed his best wishes to the scholars for their stay in India. In the last 13 years, over 170 students from Sri Lanka have been awarded this scholarship titled “Propagation of Hindi Abroad”. This year, the highest number of students has been selected from Sri Lanka.
