2.34 crore farmers in UP to soon benefit from PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana’s next instalment

2.34 crore farmers in Uttar Pradesh will soon benefit from the next instalment of Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. State Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said that keeping the second wave of coronavirus pandemic in mind, for the benefit of farmers, the next instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme will soon be released.

Adding further, he mentioned he also spoke to Union Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Agarwal on this matter. Agriculture Director, A P Shrivastava has also been ordered to send the data of eligible farmers to the Indian Government, he added.

2.67 crore farmers will get the instalment within one week

The State Agriculture Minister said that under the ‘PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana’, a total of 2.67 crore farmers would get the next instalment of Rs 2,000 within a week. This includes 2.34 crore new farmers and the remaining 32 lakh farmers which are yet to get benefitted. Surya Pratap Shahi also thanked Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture Devesh Chaturvedi and Agriculture Director and Agriculture Directorate for having readily worked during this unprecedented time of pandemic.

What is Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme?

The central Government started the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Yojana on December 1, 2018 for the farmers. Under this scheme, the government deposits an instalments of Rs 2,000 in the bank account of farmers every four months. So, Rs 6,000 get directly transferred to the bank account of farmers annually. More than 11.74 crore farmers have benefited from the scheme so far. Farmers can easily register themselves both online or offline to avail the benefits under the scheme. Farmers can also register themselves through Common Service Centres or online through the official website, i.e. www.pmkisan.gov.in/.
