Union Information and Broadcasting and Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar read the preamble of the Constitution along with senior officials and employees of the Environment Ministry on the occasion of Constitution Day today.
He said, on the auspicious day, a pledge to imbibe ideals enshrined in the Constitution was taken. Lauding the Indian Constitution, Mr. Javadekar said, it enshrines the essence of equality. He said, the Indian Constitution gave equal voting rights to both men and women since inception which is a quality which was missing in constitutions of other nations for very long. On the occasion, Mr. Javadekar also urged citizens to sincerely fulfill the fundamental duties as enshrined in the Constitution.
Secretary, Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Amit Khare and other senior officials and employees of the Ministry also read the preamble and pledged to imbibe the ideals enshrined in the Constitution.
