Chennai: The U.S.Consulate General in Chennai is sponsoring a two-week exchange program for 15 coaches and administrators of Wheelchair Basketball in the United States from March 16 – 31’2019.
U.S.Consulate General Spokesperson Kathleen Hosie said “The overall objective of this exchange program is to promote disability rights and inclusiveness. As part of the foreign policy of the United States, we work to remove barriers and create a world in which people with disabilities enjoy dignity, equality and full inclusion.”

Ms.Madhavi Latha.P – is a National Paralympic Swimming Champion. She s also a Wheelchair basketball player, and the founder of ‘Yes We Too Can Movement’ which promotes sports for people with disabilities.
Dr.Joseph James – has over 17 years experience in the field of Physical Education and Sport Sciences. He has represented the State of Tamil Nadu and National in the game of Hockey and Football.
Mr.Thayumana Subramanian – He supports Tamilnadu wheelchair basketball players and participated in several training camps and he is an employee of Cognizant Technologies.
Mr.Leo Roy Simon – coach of Wheelchair Basketball and The President of Karnataka State Wheelchair Basketball Association, Karnataka.
Dr.C.Anandajothi – He is currently the Technical Director of Wheelchair Basketball Federation of India and General Secretary – Tamilnadu Para Sports Association (TPSA).
Fr.Mathew K.Joseph – is currently the President of Ernakulam District Paralympic Committee, Kerala. He has been working with disabled youth since 1998.
