In a significant development in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is expected to record Siddharth Pithani’s statement under Section 164 of CrPC. The latest development comes after the late actor’s family had said expressed concern over the ‘slow pace’ of the CBI probe into SSR’s death.

The recording statement under the above-mentioned CrPC Act assumes significance as it becomes admissible in court.

Sushant Singh was found dead in his apartment in suburban Bandra in Mumbai on June 14. He starred in several films like ‘Kai Po Che’, ‘Kedarnath’, ‘Sonchiriya’ and ‘Dil Bechara’ and others.

Almost a month after Sushant’s death, the actor’s father registered a complaint against actress Rhea Chakraborty in connection with his death. The Patna Police registered a case against Rhea Rhea Chakraborty, her parents Indrajit Chakraborty and Sandhya Chakraborty, brother Showik Chakraborty, and common friends Samuel Miranda and Shruti Modi.

SSR’s family’s lawyer Vikas Singh had last week expressed “helplessness” over the slow pace of the CBI probe.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s father met Nitish Kumar

Sushant Singh Rajput’s father and sister met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on September 30 to thank him for his intervention. The Bihar government had earlier recommended CBI probe into the matter, which was vehemently opposed by the Maharashtra government. However, the Supreme Court paved the way for a CBI probe into the sensational case. The central probe agency started investigating the case on August 21.

Rhea Chakraborty, Showik active members of a drug syndicate: NCB

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) which is probing a drugs case related to Sushant Singh’s death, has told the Bombay High Court that Rhea and her brother were “active members of a drug syndicate that was connected with high society personalities and drug suppliers”.

Rhea, Showik, Samuel Miranda, Abdul Parihar and Dipesh Sawant were earlier arrested by the NCB and continue to remain in custody.

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Forensic Department has submitted its report with the CBI in Sushant death case. The forensic board chaired by Dr Sudhir Gupta Medical board gave a ‘conclusive medico-legal opinion on Sushant’s death to CBI’.

“The medical board of AIIMS has expressed very clearly and conclusively medico-legal final opinion in this case to the CBI. The AIIMS and CBI are in agreement and on the same page in the matter,” AIIMS’ forensic chief said.
