NEP in Madhya Pradesh

Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan while launching the policy in the State, said that the policy will prove beneficial for the generations to come. The aim of education is to impart knowledge, skills, and values of citizenship & the NEP 2020 has this. This policy allows you to study Physics and Chemistry as well as become a scholar of Hindi or Sanskrit.”

The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister also added that education is of no importance if one cannot earn a living. We have to prepare such children who become job creators, not job seekers, he added.

He also asked the Vice-Chancellors of the universities of the State to not only be confined to their universities, but also asked them to visit colleges, tour, and show a new direction to the education system.

The MP Government is planning to implement NEP 2020 within four years in all the regions of the state, including 16 government universities and 40 private universities.

National Education Policy 2020

The Union Government launched the New Education Policy on July 29, last year, to prepare Indian students for the challenges of the 21st century. It replaced the 34-year-old National Policy on Education framed in 1986. PM Narendra Modi has said that the new education policy is a major milestone in the making of an ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.

The Policy, duly recognizes the diversity, complexity, and plurality of our society, its traditions, cultures, and languages. The establishment of the National Research Foundation (NRF) takes due cognizance of the biggest lacuna in the present education system, the lack of a coherent direction for planning and implementation of research at the university level.

The NEP is an impactful, interactive, innovative, and inclusive way to build on the cornerstone of equity, quality, and access. This new policy supports vocal for local and local for global.

Key Highlights of NEP

-NRF will focus on funding research, primarily within the education system, with specific attention to colleges and universities.

– It will encompass broad areas of sciences, technologies, social sciences, arts and humanities, and in the future, many other subject areas.

– NEP imparts vocational education from class 6 onwards, progress card in place of the report card, 5+3+3+4 structure, multidisciplinary education with easy entry/exit options, and academic bank of credit.
