Hasin Jahan, the estranged wife of Indian cricket player Mohammed Shami, has expressed satisfaction that a chargesheet has been filed against him. However she said that she is unable to understand why the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has not taken any action in this regard.
Hasin Jahan has thanked the police for filing the chargesheet. However, she said that the BCCI has not taken any action against Shami.
Mohammed Shami was charged under Section 498A (dowry harassment) and 354A (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) by the Kolkata police, which has submitted the charge-sheet against the Indian fast bowler at the Alipore court.
In a petition with the Alipore court, Hasin Jahan had mentioned domestic violence and demanded INR 7 lakh per month from him to maintain the family. The court accepted her plea and allocated INR 80,000 to her daughter.
The charge-sheet filed in the court over Hasin’s complaint mentions about the domestic violence and torture that Shami and his family members perpetrated on her.
Mohammad Shami last appeared for India in the one-day international against Australia at the Ferozeshah Kotla in New Delhi.
