100 oxygen bed COVID care facility to be operationalized in Gurgram’s sector 14

A 100-bed oxygen COVID care center set up in collaboration with Hero Group, India’s multinational automobile manufacturer, is scheduled to be inaugurated by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in Gurugram today.

The health care facility has been set up at the auditorium of Government Girls College in Sector 14 of Gurugram with 100 oxygenated beds. The district administration has fulfilled the requirement for oxygen while the Hero Group made arrangements for 100 oxygen concentrators. Further for the arrangement of doctors and essential medicines, Hero Group and ‘Doctors For You’, a humanitarian organization, will also join hands for the swift treatment of COVID patients under the supervision of the Civil Surgeon’s Office.

Earlier on Sunday, CM Manohar Lal Khattar operationalized two covid care facilities at Tau Devi Lal Stadium at Sector-38 and Sector 67 in Gurugram. With the inauguration of these two COVID hospitals, around 400 extra beds will be now available for the treatment of covid patients in Gurugram, Haryana.

The Tau Devi Lal Stadium 100-bed COVID care facility has been built with the help of Vedanta, of which 80 are oxygen beds and 20 are Intensive Care Unit ICU beds. The Vedanta Group has arranged the medical facilities while the doctors and nurses have been provided by Doctors For You. The Civil Surgeon’s Office will also deploy doctors and other medical staff.

Similarly, a 300-bed Covid hospital had been set up in Sector 67 as a synergy of Confederation of Indian Industry(CII), Indian Air Force, M3M – a real estate firm, and the NGO – Doctors For You. The infrastructure-related operation support will be provided by the Indian Air force, M3M, and CII while doctors will be again deployed by Doctors for You.

Interacting with the media on Sunday, CM Manohar Lal Khattar said, “ We have operationalized 1,400 COVID beds in one day. Earlier, we had nearly 17,500 beds of which 13,000-14,000 beds were used on a daily basis, the strength of the COVID beds has now been increased to approx 19,000. Additionally, we have set up 45,000 isolation beds, which will cater to patients in COVID care centers and isolation facilities in the state.”

The Cleanliness and disposal of biomedical waste of all three Covid care centers in Gurugram will be handled by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) along with the security care by Gurugram Police.
